A Few Words from Zoe
You may be thinking that breeders are all the same but that couldn’t be further from the truth. The way I breed, and more importantly the reasons behind why I breed the way I do, are entirely different. I stand apart from many breeders you may come across, including those on large platforms such as Pets4Homes. In fact, I have yet to find another breeder who has invested as deeply as I have in the long-term health and wellbeing of their dogs. I have never followed the conventional route, instead, I have always trusted my instinct to think ahead, to question, and to do more.
Over 30 years ago, long before advanced testing was readily available in the UK, I was already exploring canine DNA. At a time when there were no laboratories here in the UK offering such services, I was sending samples to UC Davis in America. Years later in 2014, the UK finally began to catch up with me and started opening canine testing laboratories but by then, my approach had already been firmly established.
When you read about my life story on the “About Me” page you will read how my banker to breeder transition was a sad one initially, nothing about my journey has been the traditional and conventional way. Over time I’ve developed an approach that sets me apart from many others in this field, one routed in precision, care and uncompromising commitment to excellence. But this didn’t happen overnight , nor was it something I initially set out to create.
I want to share how I got to where I am today, and why I choose to do things differently. Because behind every decision, every pairing, and every puppy, there is a story and a standard that defines everything I do because the reality is when health is over looked the true cost of a poorly bred dog is never just financial, its the emotional strain, the worry and the heartbreak of watching a dog you love suffer, a heartbreak no family should have to experience as it could of been prevented.
My journey into advanced breeding practices began with an unwavering focus on health. From the outset 30 years ago, I have been meticulous, some might say obsessive about the wellbeing of my dogs, holding their care to the same standard I apply to myself and my own children. I routinely conducted extensive health testing, sending samples to specialist laboratories overseas, to ensure I was making the most informed breeding decisions possible.
It was during this process in 2008 that I encountered an unexpected turning point. Alongside the health testing forms was the option to analyse DNA traits such as coat colour, pattern, and structure. Out of curiosity, and simply as a by-product of my health first approach, I included these additional tests. When the results came back, I was genuinely fascinated. What began as a routine exercise quickly developed into a deeper interest in DNA profiling and genetic inheritance, ultimately shaping the direction of my work today.

My amazing journey with my dogs has opened the door to meeting some truly recognisable faces along the way. These photos capture special moments with individuals who, like me, appreciate quality, care, and the joy that a well bred dog brings. While only some of my high profile clients are happy for these moments to be photographed, I’m grateful to be able to share a glimpse into some of those experiences. I’m proud to have earned the trust of clients from all walks of life, including those in the public eye, a reflection of the standards and dedication behind everything I do.
However, it is important to emphasise that this journey was never driven by aesthetics alone. My foundation has always been, and remains, rooted in health, integrity, and responsible breeding. The exploration of colour and genetics came later, almost by accident and as an extension of my commitment to producing the healthiest dogs possible.
